Treatment Time

A treatment using dermal fillers usually takes around 30 to 60 minutes, depending on the area(s) being treated.

Recovery Time

You should make a full recovery from this treatment within 24 hours, and most people are able to head back to work immediately. If you experience mild redness, swelling or bruising at the injection sites, you may choose to take some time off until that subsides.

More and more people are turning to dermal filler treatments for a more youthful look. In a private consultation before treatment, one of our experts will explain how dermal fillers work and how they can be used to restore volume to areas of your face. You will also have a chance to ask questions and access detailed information so that you can make an informed decision about your treatment.

It is possible to opt for dermal fillers in isolated areas such as your forehead or lips, or to opt for a multi-injection approach where we add harmony and balance to your whole face in order to provide a ‘less-done’ and more natural look.

The procedure is non-invasive and has no negative long-term effects to the body. Areas in which we offer dermal fillers include the forehead, eyes, nose, cheeks, tear troughs, jaw line, and marionette folds, with the main aim being to improve texture and hydration of the skin. We pride ourselves on a high customer satisfaction level, with customers praising the immediate results from only a single treatment, with little impact on their everyday life.

What are dermal fillers and how do they work?

Here at Bamboo Aesthetics, we use hyaluronic acid-based dermal fillers. Hyaluronic acid is carbohydrate that occurs naturally in all mammals within the connective tissue of our bodies, including our joints and eyes. Together with collagen and elastin, it adds volume to the skin and is the reason young skin has such smooth and rounded definition. As we grow older – from our 20s onwards, in fact – our natural stores of hyaluronic acid start to deplete. Over time, this causes skin to loose volume, leading to deep static lines around the mouth and hollows under the eyes and cheekbones, for example.

The dermal fillers we use contain a biosynthetic version of hyaluronic acid, which breaks down over time and is eventually absorbed by your body. By injecting small quantities of fillers into your lines and wrinkles, we can temporarily give your skin a more youthful appearance by adding volume.

How soon will I see the results of my dermal fillers treatment?

You will be able to see the results of your treatment straight away, and you should continue to notice improvements for several days as the dermal fillers settle fully.

How long will the results last?

How long the results of your treatment last will depend on a number of different factors, such as the type and quantity of filler used, the treatment area, and your individual response to fillers. As a rough guide, most people enjoy the results of their treatment for six to 12 months, after which most decide to have a top-up treatment to maintain the results.

Are Dermal Fillers safe?

Dermal fillers are not a new treatment. As early as the 1890s, doctors would take fat from their patients’ arms and inject it into their faces to create volume. As the materials and techniques have changed, dermal fillers have been fine-tuned over more than a century and, as such, are supported by extensive clinical studies and patient statistics.

In the hands of a skilled and experienced medical professional, dermal fillers are viewed as a safe and effective treatment option to address the signs of ageing and give you a younger but natural appearance.

What are the potential side effects of dermal fillers?

As with anti-wrinkle injections, the most common side effects associated with dermal fillers are mild bleeding, redness, swelling and bruising at the injection site, which typically resolves within two to three days.

Allergic reactions have been reported on rare occasions, and include prolonged redness, swelling, itching, or hardness and bumps in the skin.

Do let us know if you have a history of cold sores, as dermal fillers can cause an outbreak; we can prescribe prophylactic medicine to take before your treatment to prevent this from occurring.

We will always talk to you in-depth about the potential side effects associated with any treatments, so that you can make an informed decision about whether or not a specific procedure is right for your needs.

How much do dermal fillers cost?

We have given a guide to dermal filler costs above, but it will depend on the number of injections you have and the amount of product we use. When you come into Bamboo Aesthetics for your initial consultation, we’ll give you a full and transparent breakdown of your treatment costs so that you can make an informed decision.
