The Curious Case of Bonnie’s Botox

Today we took a few minutes to chat to Bonnie, one of the practice managers at Bamboo Aesthetics. She had been so excited about a Botox treatment she’d had that we had to put pen to paper and share her experience with others looking into anti-wrinkle treatment too.

 

1. How did you feel making the move from the desk into the surgery ready for treatment?

I have spent some time working with Dr Dan and so knew that I was in very capable hands. This gave me more than enough confidence to move from the desk into the surgery for treatment.

 

2. Did Dr Dan make you feel at ease before and throughout the treatment?

Yes, Dr Dan talked me through the procedure and made sure that I was content with each stage of the treatment. His calm demeanour was contagious making the whole experience a surprisingly pleasant experience.

 

3. What was it that encouraged you to opt for Botox treatment?

I see several patients each day that have been treated by Dr Dan and I am constantly impressed by the results. I would usually have been hesitant about how well the treatment would work for me but seeing first hand the gains that anti-wrinkle treatments can give certainly gave me the push to opt for the treatment myself – and I have not been disappointed!

 

4. Did you feel any nerves as your treatment time approached?

I think that it is natural to feel some nerves – especially as this kind of treatment was all new to me. I had read about Botox on the NHS website to read around a little more which helped. Any nerves that were left  quickly disappeared once I was in the treatment room talking with Dr Dan.

 

5. Describe the process of the treatment, what did it involve?

• The process was simple and took around 30 minutes. Firstly I gave some details of my medical history. This is to ensure that the treatment is safe for me.
• Following this I lay in the treatment chair and my face was cleansed.
• The next stage was for Dr Dan to make small dotted marks on the areas of my face that were to be administered the anti-wrinkle injections.
• Once this was complete, I was ready to be given the botox. Dr Dan administered this into the marked areas and it was all finished before I knew it!
• The experience finished with a conversation in which Dr Dan gave me a few post-treatment instructions. That was it – I was all done!

 

6. Was there any pain? Was the experience a comfortable one?

The experience was surprising simple and comfortable. It didn’t really hurt at all.

 

7. How long did the procedure take?

The entire process took no longer than 30 minutes. This was about what I had expected and includes the treatment as well as the conversations with Dr Dan before and after the treatment.

 

8. How did the environment of the surgery make you feel?

The surgery was brand new and look really professional. This instilled confidence in me and that coupled with Dr Dan’s wise words made the whole environment a truly calming one that I would not hesitate visiting again as a patient.

 

9. Did Dr Dan offer you any advice post-treatment?

Dr Dan gave me some advice on washing my face – he said to be gentle. He also instructed me to avoid any anaerobic exercise for the rest of the day.

 

10. What was the recovery time of your treatment and was there any interference with the rest of your day?

My day was really not affected at all. I was able to go straight back to work without any hindrance whatsoever. Of course, there are a few things you can’t do right away such as working out at the gym (as mentioned above). However, the following day I was able to resume any exercise as normal.

 

11. How would you advise someone else thinking about anti-wrinkle treatment?

I would say that you definitely won’t regret it! I spent a long time thinking about getting anti-wrinkle treatment. As with all things, once you take the plunge and actually do the thing you have been thinking about you wonder why you waited for so long.

 

12. Would you have Botox treatment again at some point in the future?

Yes, I was very happy with the results and will definitely be booking in again some months down the line.

 

13. Are there any other treatments at bamboo that you would consider trying?

Yes, I fully trust Dr Dan. I trust not only his skill and knowledge in the cosmetics industry but also on his advice as to which future treatments would give me the youthful look that I am after.
