What is a thread lift?

A thread lift is an innovate treatment which serves as an alternative to the classic surgical face lift. A thread lift reduces sagging in facial areas such as the neck, cheeks and jawline. Special threads are introduced to the face using a very fine needle to discreetly hold the skin and facial tissue into the desired position.

Am I eligible for a thread lift? Who can benefit the most from a thread lift?

If interested in a thread lift, a member of the team will arrange a consultation for you with one of our experts. Your consultation is the time for you to speak with a practitioner about what you want to achieve. During the consultation, your practitioner will discuss with you the best course of treatment for your skin, and whether or not that is a thread lift.

The treatment is suitable for both men and women. The best candidates are often between the ages of 30 and 60 with small signs of aging. Usual candidates have relatively good skin but are beginning to experience some sagging in areas on the face, but nothing extensive enough such as excessive loose skin. Such a candidate who chooses a thread lift can therefore enjoy a subtle yet impressive rejuvenation without the upheaval and after effects of traditional surgery.

What can I expect on the day? Can I go straight back to work?

The treatment is performed under local anaesthetic, meaning you won’t feel a thing and will stay awake during the treatment. The procedure time is up to an hour, meaning you could regain your youth all in the space of a lunch break. We advise however, to have the treatment when not at work as bruising and swelling tends to vary from person to person.

Are there any side effects? How quickly will I recover?

Following on from the treatment, there is often a sensitivity period of up to 48 hours.  Side effects of the treatment vary from person to person, and while little upheaval is common for most patients, others have experienced minor bruising and soreness during the recovery period.

How long do the results last?

Results of the thread lift are immediate. You will be able to notice the lifting results as soon as you get home. The rejuvenating effect will become more and more evident with each day that passes. Most patients enjoy lasting results of up to 16-18 months.
